Important to Know

Why Does Tankless Cost More to Install?

Converting from a traditional tank water heater to a tankless system is not a simple swap. It is a full retrofit — and the additional cost reflects the right way to do the job.

🔧

Exhaust Vent Replacement

The existing flue or exhaust vent must be completely replaced with PVC/CPVC piping compatible with the condensing unit.

Dedicated Gas Line

A dedicated gas line must be run from the gas meter to supply the higher BTU demand required for proper functionality and longevity.

💧

Condensate Drain Line

Condensing tankless units produce acidic condensate that must be routed to the exterior or an approved drain with a neutralizer.

🔩

Isolation Valve Kit

Required for annual descaling maintenance access — a code and manufacturer requirement on every tankless installation.

📋

California Code Requirements

Every CA installation requires bonding and grounding, a thermal expansion tank, and a gas debris trap on the gas line — no exceptions.

🏆

The Right Way

These are not upsells. They are what separates a professional installation from one that creates problems — and callbacks — down the road.
