Please review the following terms and conditions that govern your use of our services and website.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the The Water Heater Company website and services. By accessing our website, requesting an estimate, scheduling an appointment, or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use our website or services.

Our Services
The Water Heater Company provides residential and light-commercial water heating services in Southern California, including the installation, replacement, repair, and maintenance of tank water heaters, tankless water heaters, heat pump water heaters, and water treatment systems. We operate under California Contractors License #1045699, which you can verify at any time through the Contractors State License Board's Check-A-License tool.
All services are subject to technician availability and may vary by location. We reserve the right to decline work that cannot be performed safely, legally, or to code.
Diagnostics, Estimates & Pricing
Our repair and diagnostic visit is a flat $129 for any water heater, tank or tankless. A specialist inspects the unit, explains the issue, and quotes the exact repair price before any work begins — no work starts without your authorization.
- Estimates are based on conditions visible and accessible at the time of assessment
- If additional work is discovered after the job begins, we will pause, explain the change, and obtain your approval before continuing
- Quoted prices are valid for the period stated on the estimate
Scheduling & Cancellation
Appointments are scheduled based on availability, and we make every effort to arrive within the scheduled window. Same-day service is frequently available but not guaranteed.
- Please give as much notice as possible to cancel or reschedule — cancellation windows and any applicable fees are communicated at booking
- Missed appointments without notice may be subject to a service call fee
- Emergency and after-hours services, where offered, may carry different rates, disclosed before work begins
Payment & Financing
Payment is due upon completion of services unless other arrangements are agreed to in writing. We accept major credit cards, checks, and approved financing.
Financing is offered through GoodLeap, an independent third-party lender. All financing is subject to GoodLeap's own application, credit approval, and loan terms. The Water Heater Company is not a lender, does not make credit decisions, and does not guarantee approval or any particular rate. Review your financing agreement carefully before signing — your payment obligations for financed work are to the lender under that agreement.
Permits & Inspections
California requires a permit for water heater replacement and installation work. We pull the applicable city permit on every installation we perform and process the related paperwork. Where a municipal inspection is required, we coordinate scheduling with you, and you agree to provide reasonable access to the work area. Permit and inspection fees, when applicable, are itemized in your quote.
Warranties & Guarantees
We stand behind our work with labor warranties on our installations and repairs, and installed equipment carries the manufacturer's warranty. Specific warranty terms and durations vary by product and service type and are provided with your quote or invoice.
Making a warranty claim. Contact our office by phone at (877) 798-7487 or by email at [email protected] with your name, service address, and a description of the issue. We will schedule an assessment and, for covered issues, complete the warranty work at no charge under the applicable warranty terms.
THE Best Price Guarantee. Bring us a written quote from any licensed competitor for the same scope of work, the same equipment, and the same warranty coverage, and we will match it. The guarantee applies to genuine apples-to-apples comparisons and requires the competing quote in writing.
The Good Contractors List guarantee. Our work is additionally backed by a $25,000 workmanship guarantee through The Good Contractors List, an independent third-party program; that program's own terms and claim procedures apply.
Warranties do not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, freezing, unpermitted modifications, or service performed by third parties after our work is completed.
Communications & SMS Consent
When you submit a form on our website and check the SMS consent box, you agree to receive text messages from The Water Heater Company about your service request and appointment updates. Message frequency varies, message and data rates may apply, you can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help, and consent is not a condition of purchase. Details about how we collect and use contact information — including call tracking and analytics — are described in our Privacy Policy.
